Holiday is over.....

Sorry if anyone has been unable to get through to me over the last couple of weeks, I have been away on our family holiday.  This year we went to Cornwall in our campervan, and although not brilliant weather, we had a lovely time.  It is nice to get away once in a while and spend time with family.
Holidays are not quite the same since having back problems, and I am slow compared to my family and I don't do as much.  It is hard to keep up sometimes !!  So I am back to the chiropractor tomorrow to hopefully put me back on track for the week.
So no quilts to show either this week.  I did take a few sewing projects on holiday although I have to say that none have been very productive.  I had a go at hand applique, which turned out OK, but not great, I don't normally "do" hand applique.  I tried the freezer paper on top method, although not having an iron to hand didn't help either.  So the 9 block quilt will probably turn into a 1 block wall hanging instead.
I impulsively bought myself a singer featherweight sewing machine from ebay  hoping that it would arrive before we went away so I had a little machine to work with after cutting out some double wedding ring blocks to take with me, however this didn't arrive before we went, and perhaps I was being a little optomistic that it would work well enough to be ready to use too.   It turns out that I need a new foot pedal, as this one just stays on all of the time.  It didn't cost too much, so worse case scenario it will make a very nice focal feature in my studio instead.
And after getting a little too carried away when I saw this little cute thing while on holiday, I bought this one too !!!  Had I seen this one first I would not have bought the black one.  The bodywork is immaculate, but again the foot control is continuously on....  I need to find a repair guy !!!
I know that I am mad, seeing as they don't work 100% yet, but aren't they so sweet?  I am hoping to get at least one of them up and running properly for a portable machine to take to clubs, as I struggle to lift my heavy modern machines.
