J-Quilts blog

The reason I have been a little AWOL from my blog lately is that I have been moving my studio space and machine into a commercial unit with alot more space than at home which I have very quickly outgrown.  I now have two rooms, two toilets and a kitchen !  a little more than I need right now, but you would not believe how hard it is to find studio space locally.  If I wanted an office I would have more choice, but with the noise of my machine when running, an office is not the ideal solution.  I did apply for an art studio at Cuckoo Farm Studios, however I don't think I am quite artsy enough for them, and was declined with no other reason than I do not qualify at this time, but that I was quite welcome to pay them £30 a year anyway to be able to attend their art functions!!!
However when one door closes another one opens as they say and luckily I have found space 10 minutes from here.  It is the perfect space to quilt in with lots of natural light, and lots of room to move around my quilt frame which was very much lacking here at home.
My new space is at Unit 3C The Gattinetts, Hadleigh Road, East Bergholt. CO7 6QT which is only a 10 minute drive for me from my house.
However, don't worry if you are in Colchester and don't want to travel out too far, I am still happy to discuss your requirements and arrange drop offs and collections from Colchester too!
I will keep you posted ..........  in the meantime my services have not been disrupted for much more than a couple of days,  and I am continuing to quilt your quilts to be returned to you.
