A busy weekend at Arlesford quilt show....

I have had an exhausting (and very painful for my back and neck) weekend at Alresford quilt show, which was a huge success and more than 500 visitors attended over the two days..  Saturday was the busiest day and ladies were queing at the door at 9.30 for a 10am start.   Lynne Edwards was there selling her latest book and rulers.  Sew and Sos from Bungay were there with a huge selection of scrummy fabrics, all calling my name as they were trading from just opposite me...  I was very good though and only bought a half yard of linen fabric with a bag in mind....  reminding myself that I already have enough fabric for more  than 100 quilts in my stash... and Franklins were there selling their range of sewing machines.

I chatted to many many interested ladies about longarm quilting, some of whom had not heard of it and didn't know that this service was available, some who had never used longarm services yet, and lots of current customers too who I already knew.  I had many offers to buy my sample quilts athough they were not for sale as I need them to show customers, and  I was also commissioned to make a large quilt from scratch and quilt it.

There were some amazing quilts on display, some of which I had quilted for my customers.  I put two of my quilts in the show, and the two raffle quilts I had also quilted, the first prize quilt was won by one of my customers Sylvia, who was so thrilled to have won the coveted quilt by all of the group members (including myself).  Of course these were all quilted over a long period of time since I have been quilting as a business.

Of course there were many more quilts on show, but my camera ran out of battery (story of my life according to my husband....)
