Put your sunglasses on because it is a bright one !!!! very busy bright fabrics on this tumbler block quilt which I had cut out with my Accuquilt GO cutting machine a month or so ago now. As it was the first quilt cut out with the die cutting machine I did not really think too much about my colour choices and just cut happily away at some of my stash. It is probably the most random looking quilt that I have made so I took the opportunity to practice my freehand quilting which I quilted in swirls and what my husband has named "splats" Although you can barely see my quilting from a distance, because I chose a very subtle lemon thread. The quilt is busy enough as it is without the thread fighting for attention too.
The freehand quilting is very free and ad hoc, but was enjoyable to quilt. I have quilted the borders with a half diagonal crosshatch, in retrospect I should have quilted it only half inch apart rather than the 1/4 inch as it is a little stiffer than I wanted it to be, but I was trying out a new crosshatching template and got a little carried away. I love gadgets and gismos !!! which is probably why I never have any money to spare !!! I will pop it in the washing machine and hope it softens more.
