I HAVE BEEN QUIET BUT BUSY......

I apologise that I have been quiet but busy lately, and have had no time for blogging.  I have been rather a busy girl.  I am relieved that the 31st January deadline is now over and my customer tax returns (and my own tax return) are all filed with no penalties incurred.

I have also been working on customer quilts this week and will be right up to date over the next few days, ready to take on more quilts through February and March.

I hope to find the time over the weekend to quilt one of my own quilts.  I am hoping to use lots of different techniques and methods in my quilt rather than an allover design as the quilt has alot of sashings and stars and high contrasting fabrics, which will look better custom quilted as opposed to an allover pantograph on this one.  I love allover designs, but some quilts really need to be more specifically quilted around the blocks and sashings.
I also have a stack of tumbler blocks which I cut out on my new accuquilt GO cutting machine, which have been sitting on my desk teasing me over the last few weeks.  However as I pieced a row of them earlier, it quickly dawned on me that these 3 1/2 inch tumbler blocks are going to take quite some time to piece, and I need to cut many more pieces to achieve a quilt of any decent size.  For the first time, I have not really put that much thought into my colour and fabric choice, I just went to the nearest fat quarter box in my storage which happened to be bright cheery fabrics.  I just wanted to test out my accuquilt GO.  It will therefore be rather a scrappy bright look in pinks, yellows, turquoise and many more. I have no one in mind for the quilt, except for using the tumbler blocks, the fabrics are rather girly, so maybe for me again !!

I will add some photos in my next post of my GO cutter, and the tumbling blocks.
